Wine Tasting Gala Supports Boundary Country Arts Community

An annual event that blends wine tasting, art, and philanthropy returns to Boundary Country for 2023.

The 2023 Wine Tasting Gala Fundraiser is slated to take place on Saturday, November 25 starting at 8pm.

Described as the “grandest wine affair” of the year, the fundraiser promises an evening of fine drinks, delectable treats, and enchanting conversations—all while offering critical support for the Boundary’s arts scene.

Previous fundraisers have included not just wine but also regional craft beer and locally roasted coffees.

“Join us on November 25 for a night of sophistication and delightful sips . . . the social event of the season and an important fundraising event,” a statement from Gallery 2, the art venue hosting the event, reads. “See and be seen while supporting arts and culture in Grand Forks and the Boundary.”

Tickets, on sale now, are $100 for members of Gallery 2, and $120 for non-members.

Established in 1984, the Grand Forks Art Gallery—now known as Gallery 2—is the Boundary’s public art gallery.

Immersed with heritage in a downtown courthouse building constructed in 1911, Gallery 2 features multiple floors of intrigue.

“On the main floor, the Gift Shop showcases a carefully curated collection of regional crafts, the Art Rental gallery features a sample of local artworks available to rent, and the Central Gallery anchors our exhibition program,” according to the website.

Upstairs, the Reid Gallery presents new work by a range of artists while the Fogg Gallery is dedicated to the Grand Forks Art Gallery Society’s collection.

As one of few public art galleries in rural BC, Gallery 2 collaborates with local and national artists to develop “conceptually rigorous, artistically ambitious, and locally relevant exhibition programs.”
