The public pool in Greenwood is over 50 years old.
It closed this year following a long list of issues, including safety liabilities and structural integrity concerns.
To give the pool another half-century of life, the City of Greenwood is investing nearly $300,000 into the public amenity to restore the pool to modern health and safety regulations.
“Construction has officially begun on the Greenwood Municipal Pool project,” the municipality stated this week. “After much anticipation, the first steps are underway to bring a new, revitalized pool to our community.”
The pool is expected to reopen in 2026.
