With Limited Resources, Grand Forks Public Library Reduces Services

The Grand Forks & District Public Library is reducing services in response to insufficient public funding.

“This year’s funding from our local governments is not enough to sustain all of our current services,” reads a statement from the library.

The library opted for “reductions which will affect the fewest number of patrons.”

These include shorter open times on Saturdays (10am-2pm) and less frequent in-person service at Christina Lake.

“We remain committed to serving this community with the resources we have,” the library stated, “and we will continue to advocate for the funding needed to restore these services in the future.”

The reductions in service are effective March.
