In May, we reported on the launch of Spyce, a food delivery service, in Boundary Country.
Spyce Delivery launched out of Terrace, with a population of fewer than 20,000 residents, back in 2019.
The company was founded by cousins from Smithers, Jacob Kort and Rick Meima, to reach underserved regions where most other food delivery platforms won’t touch.
Spyce launched in Grand Forks in May 2025 delivering fast food staples McDonald’s, A&W, and Dairy Queen.
This month, the company added multiple new restaurants to its list.
In Grand Forks, Spyce now delivers TacoWay and Chester’s Chicken, according to the app.
Chester’s Chicken recently opened in Grand Forks, replacing Fresh Slice, as well as in Greenwood.
Food delivery services generated $2 billion in Canada in 2019, according to estimates; by 2024, that market size skyrocketed to $15B.
