Christina Lake Data Centre Signs First Customer

The data centre in Christina Lake has its first customer.

Seeking to diversify revenues, DMG Blockchain Solutions this week confirmed a $700K contract for an unidentified tenant to run AI computing workloads at the site.

“We are pleased to have secured our first contract for servers,” remarked chief executive officer Sheldon Bennett.

The Canadian company launched in Christina Lake in 2019 to mine Bitcoin, which it still does—DMG mined 22 Bitcoin in May alone, and currently holds nearly 400 in its treasury.

Earlier this year, the B.C. company was awarded a $1.5 million “energy efficiency incentive” for its deployment of hydro direct liquid cooled server technology at the company’s 65 megawatt data centre facility in Christina Lake.

DMG Blockchain Solutions trades on the TSX Venture Exchange as DMGI.
