Officially incorporated as a city on July 12, 1897, Greenwood became Boundary Country’s initial “hub” following construction of the BC Copper Company smelter in 1901.
This year, the annual Founders Day event celebrates The City of Greenwood’s 129th Birthday on July 18th.
The all-day affair occurs at Lions Park and features breakfast, a parade, and a dog show, as well as live music and a beer garden beginning at 4pm.
