Weekly Spotlight: Kettle River Museum in Midway

Constructed in 1900, the station building at the east end of Midway is seen by many every day as it remains rooted beside Highway 3.

The building’s location marks Mile Zero of the Kettle Valley Railway, a 500-kilometre line connecting to Hope that opened much of southern BC’s interior to trade and settlement.

Today, the Kettle River Museum occupies the original station house. Open May through September, with daily hours in July and August, exhibits cover a range of topics and times. You can even get married there.

Admission is free for children under 6; $5 for kids ages 7 to 15; $7.50 for adults; or $30 for a family.
